Dead Pidgeon

UW Madison

Originally was going to be made out of fabric, and a stuffed animal, but pivoted when I realized wire would be easier. Body is green chicken wire covered in grey furry fabric that was cut in drop shapes, head is epoxy sculpt. The wings were attached separately. Feathers were spray painted grey and brown and hot glued on. Feet were added last and made out of wire and brown floral tape.

Lion Puppet

Lawrence University

Drafted a design, and cut the body parts out of poster board. Secured the two sides of the head together with dowels that the actors held onto. Added handles to the body pieces. The final paint treatment was done by Leila Raymond. The puppet was operated by three people.

Chinese Shadow Puppets

Personal Project

Downloaded a digital file of the puppets and separated the body parts on Photoshop. Made the paper out of an adhesive paper between two sheets of vellum. Cut it out on the Cricut Cutter. Painted with watercolors, and attach limbs together with wire and wooden rods for manipulation.
