Book Cover

UW Madison

Painted a book cover green. Used a photo of the original book as a reference. Printed the red text off on cardstock, cut out, and glued on to the cover. Printed a photo of the flowers from the original cover and traced onto the replica. Outlined in ink, and painted in red coloring. Black text was a transfer paper. Sealed the entire thing with spray sealer then mod podge.

Glowing Book

UW Madison

Experimented with putting fairy lights in between the pages, but didn’t light up enough. Then experimented with cutting different shapes in pages to fit a bigger light. Used bike lights that were secured down with museum putty, so they could be removed to be charged. Covered with tracing paper with text printed on it, and taped groups of pages together, so it naturally opened in the center. Added a pocket to the back to fit a notecard prop.
